Quill Mounted Flywheel

Increases the Life of Flywheel and Main Driveshaft Bearings Quill Mounted Flywheel
  • The flywheel is mounted on a quill that is attached to the press frame
  • The driveshaft passes through the quill and operates in an oil film bearing
  • Because the quill has a substantially larger OD than the driveshaft, the flywheel bearing becomes larger and therefore has more load carrying capacity and longer life
  • Since the driveshaft is operating in an oil film bearing, less of the stamping shock and vibration is transmitted to the flywheel bearings
