Mechanical Designer
Responsible for mechanical design / documentation and production unit support as required on assigned projects. Through application of engineering standards and the process of continuous improvement, the incumbent will provide reliable, high quality and cost-effective product designs. Develop, change, and maintain accurate drawings and bills of materials of parts and assemblies, as well as develop and maintain company engineering drawing standards. Maintain close relationship with the production unit to promote effective communication and ensure designs meet specifications.
EDUCATION
Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS
One to five years of experience in equipment design, preferably capital equipment, machine tool, automation, or stamping press design.
Proficiency with 2D drafting and 3D parametric modeling. Experience with AutoCAD and CREO preferred but not required.
A strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing standards (such as ASME Y14.5).
Computer proficiency, including Excel, Word, and Teams.
General knowledge of integrated business information systems. Experience with SAP preferred but not required.
Keen interest in expanding one's knowledge of DFM / DFA procedures and processes, large weldments, castings, pneumatics, hydraulics and machining operations.
