Mechanical Engineer - Level 1
Supports mechanical engineering work under close guidance, including calculations, layouts, models, drawings, BOM support, and manufacturing support tasks. Learns company standards, product platforms, engineering tools, and project execution practices while contributing to reliable, safe, and cost-effective designs.
EDUCATION
Minimum one year of mechanical engineering experience. Additional internship, co-op, or project experience preferred.
Intermediate understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, engineering calculations, technical documentation, 2D and 3D CAD / modeling tools with ProE or Creo experience preferred, ERP systems with SAP preferred, and applicable OSHA, ANSI, and CSA standards.
Intermediate knowledge of DFM / DFA procedures and processes, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, fabrication methods (welding, casting, forming, etc.), and machining operations.
Proficiency with Windows based PC operation and with Microsoft Office suite products.
Experience with Python programming is preferred but not required.
Willingness to learn machine design, manufacturing processes, and product standards.
Strong learning agility, attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
Strong communication skills including technical writing.
May be required to work and / or travel as necessary to meet project schedules and / or accomplish goals and objectives.
