Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsible for mechanical engineering analysis, calculation, design / documentation, and production unit support as required on assigned projects. Through application of Engineering standards and the process of continuous improvement, the incumbent will provide reliable, high quality and cost-effective product designs. Develop, change, and maintain accurate drawings and bills of materials of parts and assemblies, as well as develop and maintain company engineering standards. Maintain close relationship with the production unit to promote effective communication and ensure designs meet specifications.

EDUCATION
BSME degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS
Five to ten years of experience in Engineering, preferably capital equipment, machine tool, automation, or stamping press design.

Proven design / analysis competency is required.

Knowledge of DFM / DFA procedures and processes, design of large fabrications, castings, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, gear design, and machining operations.

Knowledge of AutoCAD, parametric modeling, FEA, kinematics, and thermal analysis. Experience with CREO, ANSYS, and CREO Simulate preferred but not required.

Knowledge of applicable OSHA, ANSI, CSA standards.

General knowledge of integrated business information systems. Experience with SAP preferred but not required.
