What is an AIDA DSF Series Servo Press?
The industry leading direct drive servo press
AIDA was the first press builder to design and manufacture a direct-drive servo press, replacing the traditional flywheel clutch and brake with an AIDA designed and built, low RPM, high torque servo motor.
What are the benefits of a direct drive servo press?
Flexibility, Accuracy, Programmability
An AIDA DSF Servo Press has the ability to increase production rates - running as a short stroke press in pendulum motion, increase part quality - through optimization of forming speeds and the introduction of multiple restrike motion profiles, and open up endless possibilities for production runs - due to the virtually infinite programmability of the DSF Series press control.
When were direct drive servo presses first manufactured?
2002
When AIDA launched its direct drive servo presses in 2002, it created an entirely new class of stamping press. This innovative and disruptive application of technology is one of the most significant changes to stamping press technology in nearly 100 years.
How many AIDA DSF Servo Presses are in operation?
Over 2,200
AIDA has installed over 2,200 servo presses globally and over 300 in North America - more than any other press manufacturer.
What sizes and capacities are AIDA DSF Series servo presses available in?
80 through 3,500 tons
AIDA offers the broadest range of servo press tonnages and models. AIDA servo presses are available as single point gap frame presses all the way up to the industry's highest output automotive servo tandem lines and most everything in between. AIDA has also installed the world's largest servo transfer press, a 3,500 ton, DSF-T4-35000, in Canada.
Where are AIDA servo motors made?
AIDA designs and builds all of our own servo motors
Since 2002 AIDA has designed and built every servo motor used on our DSF Series servo presses. The motor laminations are stamped on AIDA presses and the motors are assembled in our own factories.
Where are servo presses being used?
Across all industries using metal stamping
AIDA DSF Series Servo Presses are used everywhere in the Automotive Industry, from OEM servo tandem lines, through all levels of the supply chain including Tier 1, 2 and 3, as well as contract and job shops. AIDA servo presses operate in many other industries beyond automotive, such as, Appliance (OEM and suppliers), Contract Manufacturers, HVAC, Consumer Goods, Electronics, Aerospace, and Medical.
Where are AIDA presses manufactured?
In 7 dedicated manufacturing facilities, all over the world
AIDA has the largest network of stamping press manufacturing facilities of any press builder. With production facilities in the USA (Dayton, OH), Japan, Italy, Malaysia, and China, AIDA maintains over 2 million sq. ft. of production floor space globally. AIDA DSF Servo presses are manufactured in all of our facilities. AIDA-America is the only press manufacturing facility in North America with the capability to manufacture servo presses from 300 through 3,500 tons.
