Controls BDC Variations Caused by Speed Change

• In high speed presses the bottom dead center position of the slide will change as the press speed goes up or down
• AIDA developed the combined bearing to eliminate shaft movement in the bearings
• Using roller bearings holds the shaft center concentric with the press bearing center regardless of press speed
• To absorb the stamping shock an oil film bearing is combined with the roller bearings
• Through a slightly off-set design the oil film is compressed by the shaft rotation and becomes the load carrying member at relatively low speed
