Slide Guide Systems

Slide Guide SystemsMinimize Longitudinal & Transverse Movement Highly engineered slide guiding systems constructed of carefully selected materials and manufactured to exacting tolerances result in systems that minimize longitudinal and transverse movement.

This pre-loaded pass line slide guide system is an example of AIDA metalforming innovations that maximize accuracy and die life.

6 Point Flat Slide Guide System

6 Point Slide Guide Systems The Greatest Possible Resistance to Slide Tipping & Off-Center Loading The AIDA six point flat slide guides are found on the NC1 and NC2 Models. These guides are designed with extra length and surface area to provide the greatest possible resistance to slide tipping caused by off-center loading in the die.

Guide clearance is set and maintained using full-length shims both right to left and front to back. This requires less maintenance than other press manufacture's setting system, which uses small screws to control the clearance.

8 Point Slide Guide System

8 Point Slide Guide Systems The Ultimate Resistance to Lateral Slide Motion The AIDA designed eight point slide guide system is found on the SMX, Straightside and PMX, Progressive Die mechanical stamping press models. The eight point slide guides have very small clearance and are contained within the press column, providing the ultimate resistance to lateral slide motion often found in large progressive die presses.

9 Point Slide Guide System

9 Point Slide Guide Systems Zero Slide Gib Clearance Shimmy motion of slide caused by punching shocks, slide inclination by off-center loading and breakthrough (snap-through) cause the most problems in conventional press working. ULX Series Precision Presses utilize a design of positively receiving shimmy motion of the slide or rotating moment by a crankshaft (1 point) and 8 "0" clearance spherical shoe type gibs (Ultra-gibs) arranged on the slide to eliminate such problems.

Slide gibing with "0" clearance

No slide shimmy

Improved production part accuracy

Increased die life

"0" clearance slide guide and increased frame lateral rigidity provide excellent performance with high off-center die load

1-point center suspension construction handles concentrated center loading

Press has achieved accuracy that exceeds die accuracy

Roller Guides

Roller Guide System Swivel Roller Bearing Slide Guide Assembly Eliminates lube system for conventional gibbing, oil splash, and improves working environment

Zero gib clearances over all which improves slide guiding

Provides for a full roller contact during the entire stroke length when slide is offset loaded

Easy roller replacement

Slide guiding clearances do not increase

No gib adjustment is required after the initial setup

Eliminates gib drip pots which usually get in the way of feed mechanisms or die change systems and do not catch die lube which contaminates press lube system
